Full-time, 40 hours per week Chef de Partie role assisting the Head Chef in the day-to-day running of the kitchen - based in Hamilton
The role
Based in the UCSA's Hamilton kitchen, the main responsibility of the Chef de Partie is to assist the Head Chef and the rest of the Kitchen team in the day-to-day operation of the kitchen and to coordinate particular sections of production as designated by the Head Chef.
You must have/be:
- At least 2 years’ experience in a commercial kitchen
- Level 3 National Certificate in Hospitality (Professional Cookery) ideal
- Excellent leadership, communication and people skills
- Ability to prioritise, multitask, show initiative and work well under pressure
- Experience dealing with suppliers and the ordering processes
- Honest, dependable, diligent, flexible and enthusiastic
This is a full time, 40 hours per week position. Weekend and evening work will be expected. The pay rate for this role will be between $26 and $28.

The University of Canterbury Students’ Association Incorporated (UCSA) is a not-for-profit organisation with charity status. Fourteen elected student representatives govern the UCSA with the support and guidance of external advisors via an Advisory Board.
