Café 1894, an iconic and bustling hub at the University of Canterbury, is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our team as a Crew Member!

Café 1894 is a go-to destination for students and university staff seeking great coffee, delicious food, and a welcoming atmosphere. Open Monday to Friday, we proudly serve a mouthwatering selection of barista-made coffee, fresh savoury options, and irresistible sweet treats.

As a Crew Member, you’ll be at the centre of the action, helping deliver an exceptional experience to every customer who walks through our doors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Delivering friendly, professional, and efficient service

• Preparing, presenting, and serving high-quality food and beverages

• Keeping the café clean, organised, and running smoothly

• Working closely with your team to maintain a positive and energetic atmosphere

To succeed in this role, you’ll bring:

• Previous experience in the Food & Beverage industry

• A passion for outstanding customer service

• Strong attention to detail and pride in your work

• The ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure

• A positive attitude, team spirit, and strong work ethic

This is a 35 hours per week position, during university term time, with shifts rostered between 7:00am – 5:00pm.
