The Opportunity
Are you a practical, organised team player who enjoys hands‑on work and supporting events? Do you like variety in your day — coordinating crews, preparing spaces, moving resources, or ensuring a venue runs smoothly?
The Operations Coordinator helps keep Haere‑roa and wider UCSA activities functioning at a high standard. You’ll support the daily operations of the building, coordinate event setups and pack-downs, manage equipment and logistics, and help ensure our spaces are well-presented, safe, and ready for students, staff, and clients.
This role is 30 hours per week during standard operating periods, with a regular early start of 7:00am, Monday to Friday. Hours will increase during peak event periods such as major student events, O‑Week activities, and large commercial bookings - perfect for someone who enjoys ramping up when the campus comes alive.
Reporting to the Production & Operations Manager, you’ll play a key part in supporting student engagement events, commercial functions, club activities, and internal UCSA logistics. If you enjoy fast-paced, varied work and want to contribute to a positive campus environment, this is a great opportunity to develop your operational and event experience.
About You
You’ll enjoy being active, helpful, and part of a collaborative team. You’ll have a solid understanding of event or venue operations, good communication skills, and the ability to stay organised even when juggling multiple tasks.
You take pride in maintaining tidy, functional spaces, and you’re reliable, proactive, and comfortable coordinating casual staff. An affinity for students and a desire to contribute to the UCSA’s mission of student success and belonging will help you thrive in this role.
The role does involve some physical work, dynamic scheduling, and occasional support during evenings or weekends when events require it.
