Are you a passionate chef who loves creating delicious, nutritious meals? We’re looking for a Senior Duty Chef to lead our kitchen team, deliver outstanding food, and uphold high service standards in a lively catering environment. You’ll be responsible for preparing meals for university students living in halls of residence, ensuring both quality and dietary needs are met.
Main Responsibilities:
- Work closely with the Head Chef to plan and deliver healthy, cost effective meals for residents, conferences, and guests.
- Oversee food preparation, ensuring quality and food safety while meeting dietary needs.
- Organise and supervise kitchen staff, ensuring smooth operations across various meal periods.
- Assist with purchasing, stock control, and inventory management.
- Foster a positive team atmosphere, supporting staff training and development.
What We’re Looking For:
- A talented chef with previous leadership experience in a busy kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of food safety standards and kitchen operations.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to lead a team.
- A proactive approach to maintaining high kitchen standards and supporting business growth.

Established in 1894, the UCSA is a registered not-for-profit organisation that supports UC students to succeed and belong.
Our organisation is governed by an elected Student Executive, and we employ over 300 staff. Together, we dish up a range of student-focused services, including advocacy and welfare, representation, subsidised dental and optometry, early learning centres, club support, events, and media.
The UCSA commercial team manages several cafes and bars, as well as sizeable catering and events teams delivering services to students, staff, external customers and commercial partners.
