The Opportunity
Are you a mastermind when it comes to throwing unforgettable events? Do you have a passion for bringing people together and creating unique experiences? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you!
We are on the lookout for an Events Coordinator to join our ranks, someone with a knack for planning innovative and engaging experiences for our students at Te Whare Wānanga o Waitaha | University of Canterbury (UC). If you are equally as comfortable BBQing up some sausages as you are rubbing shoulders with international music artists, even better!
If you like thinking outside the square and trying new things, then this is a great opportunity to expand on your skill set across wide variety of event types. Seriously – check out our social media feed – our team delivers Activations, Markets, Awards Ceremonies, Music Festivals, Concerts, BBQs, and everything else in between.
In this role, you'll also have the chance to work with a variety of student groups and clubs, supporting them in their own event planning endeavours. So, if you're ready to jump into the exciting world of event planning, we want to hear from you!
About You
You may be an experienced Event Professional, or you may have only recently graduated with a relevant degree – what is important to us is that you are passionate about all aspects of events and the student experience. You need to enjoy collaborating, be comfortable in a high-pace environment, be organised, and have excellent communication skills.
Due to the nature of the role and the organisation, an affinity for and understanding of students is important.

- A degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field (e.g. event management, marketing, tourism, hospitality, communications)

- Current and full drivers’ licence
- A creative, enquiring mind and the ability to “think outside the box”
- Ability to work in a team and great sense of humour
